ŽURAJ’S OAK, KRIŽAN VRH Location: Bistrica ob Sotli Category: Natural heritage

The ‘graden’ oak type is very common in Kozjanski park. Žuraj’s oak is special because of its extraordinary dimensions, as it is over a meter and a half wide and at least 250 years old.

In 2006, an illness afflicted the tree and it had to be trimmed and cut thoroughly so that it will survive for at least another hundred years.
