THE TIED-UP SAVIOUR, ČREŠNJEVEC

The monument is located in the meadow near the Robek’s farm. It is made of a pillar with a Toscan capital and a statue of the tied-up Saviour. The pillar has the edges decorated with tassels in some sections.
On the upper and bottom part of the monument, there is 1740 inscribed on it. The Christ has his tied hands, crossed on his knees and wears a short cape. He has long, curly hair, moustache and a long beard. The upper part of his head is heavily damaged due to its age.
The monument is also known as “The sad Christ” and is not located at its original location. It used to stand in the field, that is why the farmer moved it to the nearby meadow in 1931.
