MONUMENT TO CROATIAN ANTHEM IN ZELENJAK

Surrounded by the ruins of Cesargrad and Chapel of Our Lady of snow, on the entrance to the municipality Kumrovec, on the road Klanjec-Kumrovec, there is a monument to the Croatian anthem in a protected, significant landscape Zelenjak, where according to legend, anthem was sung. The monument was erected on November 24, 1935, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the national anthem by the Society of "Brothers of the Croatian Dragon" and in honor of its author Antun Mihanović. The monument was built in just three months, and the funds were raised by selling badges and voluntary donations from all Croatian regions, either in money or in material needed for construction. The monument was built in the shape of an obelisk by blueprint of sculptor Rudolf Ivankovic, Whole monument is made of reinforced concrete, and the sides are lined with massive stone slabs. The high of the monument is 13.2 m, at the bottom is 4.3 x 4.3 m wide, and the on the upper part 1.2 x 1.2 m. On the monument there is a memorial plaque with the first verses of the national anthem, and the relief showing Antun Mihanović.
