CHAPEL OF SAINT MARTIN IN BOJAČNO

The chapel of St. Martin is located in Bojačno. Situated on a hill overlooking the valley of the Sutla, it was first mentioned in 1679. as a subsidiary of the parish chapel Zagorska Sela. During the second half of the 18th century chapel was rebuilt in its present appearance. On the south side is the sacristy and in the west belfry. The humble altar in the central niche has a statue of St. Martin the Bishop. On the arches of ceiling are statues of two bishops: St. Augustine and St. Brice. The side altars are from the second half of the 19th century. Left is dedicated to Our Lady of Seven Sorrows, and the right altar to St. Anthony of Padua.
Parish traditionally celebrates St. Martin in Bojačno the first Sunday after the saint's feast. Mass is at 11:30 am. Near the chapel of St. Martin is an archaeological site on Špićek hill.
